She earned her Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling from South Carolina State University. She began her career as a State Employee serving in roles such as Vocational Counselor, Mental Health Counselor, Substance Abuse Counselor, Clinical Consultant, and Child Advocate. Before transitioning to private clinical practice, she worked with diverse populations experiencing crises that required stabilization through in-patient hospitalization and treatment.
As a Practitioner of the Healing Arts, Ms. Hampton employs an eclectic approach, utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities tailored to the individual needs of her clients. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, she recognizes Cognitive Processing Therapy—a specific type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy—as an effective treatment for trauma survivors. Combining this modality with unconditional positive regard, Ms. Hampton has witnessed significant improvements in overall functioning and quality of life among trauma survivors.
Family Caregiver Supportive Therapy for informal caregivers of individuals diagnosed with chronic disorders is also a central focus of her practice. She understands the sacrifices made by informal caregivers, who often support loved ones with chronic conditions such as mental illness—including Mood Disorders, Schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s Disease, and Dementia. In addition to mental illness, terminal medical diseases and the residual effects of Substance Use, Abuse, and Addiction can be overwhelming. Informal caregivers face high levels of stress and burnout due to the many demands and responsibilities associated with this role.
