Getting to know Renee Taylor
Greetings. My name is Renee Taylor, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and certified sex therapist in Florida. I earned my Master?s in Social Work from the University of Central Florida. When working with a new client, I start by understanding where you are now?your challenges, concerns, and desired outcomes. My focus areas of practice are sexual and relational health and well-being.
My approach
My holistic and eclectic therapeutic approach focuses on the individual's resources and strengths. I incorporate self-love and mindfulness to aid clients in their growth and healing. I am EMDR trained and use narrative therapy, empowerment, meditation, and cognitive behavioral techniques. My goal is to provide clients with tools to utilize during and after counseling.
My focus
I work with clients experiencing sexual and relationship trauma, including childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence survivors, and recovery from narcissistic partners. I also address sexual issues such as erectile dysfunction, low libido, sexual compatibility, menopause, STIs, and HIV. Additionally, I help clients heal from parental wounds of neglect and abandonment, grief, death, dying, and managing long-term illnesses.
My communication style
Though we meet virtually, I provide a welcoming environment with my full attention during sessions. I am empathic and listen for what is not said, recognizing the challenge of finding your voice. I allow clients to process and express feelings openly by creating a non-judgmental and accepting space.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to pursue counseling at age 40. Before this, I ran a pleasure party company. Through conversations with guests, I realized many suffered from sexual trauma, shame, and dysfunction and didn?t know where to seek help.
