My name is Renzo Gobea. I have been a Professional Counselor licensed in Georgia for more than 12 years. I earned my Master's in Counseling from Georgia State University. I have worked with substance abuse, trauma, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and many other adjustment disorders. My clients range in age from 8 to 70 years old and come from diverse cultural backgrounds. My firm belief in our inner strengths and capacity for healing guides me in helping clients understand themselves and begin building a life they consider worth living. Most issues stem from relationship difficulties or the absence of healthy connections. People develop conditions and challenges based on their stuckness at specific periods in life. I strive to help clients recognize their values and strengths through those difficulties. Together, we navigate areas of pain and hurt. I use a variety of theories and approaches, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Individual Psychology, and Family Systems. These methods have been tested and used not only by my clients but also by myself. I have worked with women, men, teenagers, families, and couples to discover what is missing in their lives to maintain psychological flexibility, which translates into overall health and wellness. I became a therapist because true healing comes from the heart, mind, and soul. I have always wanted to help people heal in these areas and thrive. Additionally, my past struggles motivated me to find the best ways to serve others in overcoming their suffering by learning to relate to life's pain. My hobbies include exercising, playing soccer, reading psychological books, doing home projects, and playing with my children.
