Getting to know Rhonda Lea Hensley

Are you stuck in an endless loop in your life and feel there is no way out? Your self-esteem is shot, you’re dealing with insecurities, and anxious about what to do next. You turn to drinking, overeating, the internet, or binge-watching Netflix to escape internal and external stressors. You have tried many different things to change your life, but nothing seems to work. You believe you are not enough and are afraid to ask for help. I am here to help you. I believe therapy can change people’s lives because therapy changed mine 30 years ago. I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Midwestern State University. I started working in the field of therapy 20 years ago as a Social Worker in Substance Use. I continued my work as an LPC in a treatment center for drugs and alcohol, providing therapy to people with addictions and to those who love someone struggling with addiction. Over the last 15 years, I have gained experience with the issues and diagnoses that come with this population. I help people overcome addictions, codependency, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and trauma. My specialty is addressing sexual, emotional, and physical abuse—whether past or current—and the PTSD caused by abuse. People need a safe environment conducive to healing. I will meet you where you are to help move you in a direction toward change. My direct and honest approach, combined with acceptance and care, provides a safe place for my clients to heal. I work collaboratively with clients to change their lives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You will come away from a session with me feeling heard, supported with acceptance, and understanding. Each session will provide hope that things can be different. There may be assignments to complete before the next session. I will provide my clients with insight into irrational beliefs, how those beliefs impact their lives and how to change them. I will provide tools to use and actions to take that can empower the client to change and live a healthier, holistic life. Through collaborative work, I help my clients uncover what works for them, discover unhealthy thoughts and behaviors that are causing them problems and discard these unhealthy coping mechanisms to free them to be themselves, feel they are enough, and have the courage to change.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
