What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients should know that working with us is a collaborative, supportive, and individualized experience. We understand that beginning therapy or completing a psychological evaluation can feel unfamiliar or even overwhelming, so we strive to make the process as comfortable, organized, and transparent as possible. At PHITT Services, Inc., we meet clients where they are while also encouraging meaningful growth and progress. Our clinicians take time to understand each client’s concerns, experiences, strengths, and goals rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. We value open communication and want clients to feel comfortable asking questions, providing feedback, and actively participating in their care. Clients can expect a professional and nonjudgmental environment where they are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. Depending on the reason for services, we may help clients identify patterns, develop practical coping strategies, strengthen relationships and boundaries, process difficult experiences, improve emotional regulation, or gain greater clarity through psychological assessment. We also believe that effective mental health care extends beyond simply reducing symptoms. Our goal is to help clients better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, build skills they can use outside of sessions, and make sustainable changes in their everyday lives. We view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership and are committed to helping each client move toward greater hope, transformation, and overall well-being.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our process begins with learning about you, your concerns, and what you hope to gain from services. Before your first appointment, we ask clients to complete intake paperwork so that our clinical team can review relevant history, current concerns, and treatment or assessment needs. During the initial appointment, we take time to discuss this information in greater detail, answer questions, and identify the best approach for moving forward. For therapy clients, the first few sessions focus on building rapport, clarifying concerns, and developing individualized treatment goals. From there, we work collaboratively using evidence-based interventions and practical strategies that reflect each client’s needs, strengths, and progress. Treatment is not one-size-fits-all, so goals and approaches may be adjusted as clients grow and their needs change. For psychological assessment clients, the process typically includes a clinical interview, selection and administration of appropriate psychological measures, review and interpretation of results, and integration of the available information. When applicable, clients receive a comprehensive report with findings, diagnostic impressions, and individualized recommendations. Throughout either process, we prioritize communication, transparency, and collaboration. We want clients to understand not only what we are doing, but why. Our goal is to create an experience that helps clients feel supported while providing them with meaningful tools, greater insight, and a clear path forward.
