Getting to know Dr. Richard Ari Hahn

Successful professionals often come to me when their mind will not shut off. Decisions replay, conversations loop, and the pressure to stay ahead turns into constant anxiety and overthinking. Many of my clients are executives, entrepreneurs, physicians, attorneys, and other professionals whose responsibilities leave little room for therapy that drifts without direction. The same drive that helped you succeed can begin to work against you. Your mind keeps analyzing long after the workday ends. Small issues grow into constant background pressure. Relationships start to feel strained. You push harder, but the internal system that once helped you perform now produces the stress you are trying to escape. Traditional therapy often moves slowly and without a clear structure. That approach rarely works for professionals whose time and mental energy are already stretched thin. What usually needs attention is not simply the surface problem, but the internal patterns that drive the anxiety and pressure in the first place. My work focuses on identifying and changing those patterns using Internal Family Systems combined with advanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. These approaches allow us to work directly with the parts of your internal system that create overthinking, emotional pressure, and relationship conflict. The goal is practical change: quieter mental noise, clearer decision-making, stronger relationships, and the ability to function at a high level without the constant sense of internal strain. Sessions are focused and collaborative. You remain the captain of your life. My role is to serve as a highly experienced navigator who knows the terrain and can help you reach your goals efficiently. Confidentiality is absolute. The goal is not years of therapy. The goal is helping you regain clarity, stability, and control over your internal world.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You want meaningful change without spending years in therapy. That is the goal of our work together. We begin by clarifying what you want your life to look like when things are going well. From there we develop a clear plan for how to get there. Sessions are active and collaborative. You remain the captain of the ship, and my role is to serve as your navigator, helping you see the terrain more clearly and avoid the obstacles that keep people stuck. Rather than drifting through conversations, we focus on the specific patterns that are creating anxiety, pressure, or relationship difficulties. As those patterns become clearer, we work together to change them. Your feedback is important throughout the process. When something is working well we build on it. When something is not meeting your expectations, we adjust so the work continues moving forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We begin by talking about what is happening in your life right now and what led you to seek therapy. Sometimes that involves a specific situation that has become overwhelming. Sometimes it is a growing sense that your mind is working against you rather than for you. Early in our work we slow things down enough to understand what happens inside when stress, anxiety, or relationship conflict appears. Many people discover that different parts of themselves are pulling in different directions. One part pushes you to perform and stay ahead. Another part worries about what could go wrong. Another part may feel discouraged or exhausted from carrying so much pressure. Using an Internal Family Systems approach, we begin to understand how these internal patterns developed and how they interact. Rather than trying to force change through willpower alone, we work toward understanding the roles these parts have been playing in your life. As that understanding grows, those patterns often begin to shift, and the intensity of anxiety and overthinking begins to decrease. Our work is collaborative and practical. Sometimes we focus on a specific situation from your week and explore what was happening internally at that moment. Other times we work more directly with the internal dynamics that drive anxiety, stress, or relationship difficulties. You are not coming to therapy because you are incapable. In many areas of your life you are already highly capable. The challenge is that the same mental habits that helped you succeed can sometimes create pressure, overthinking, or strain in relationships. The goal is not endless therapy. The goal is to help you regain clarity and balance so your mind begins working for you again.

Dr. Richard Ari Hahn, has been the best doctor I have ever seen. I have been struggling with anxiety since high school and now i'm in my 30's. Every doctor or therapist I had seen before him weren't that good, so I'm grateful that I finally found a really good doctor. He is kind and knowledgeable. When I don't understand something, he will explain it to me in a way that I do. I highly recommend Dr. Richard Ari Hahn.

I've worked with Ari for two years on other platforms. My last session was, as usual, insightful and inspiring. His methods seem (and most likely are) very accurate and have been incredibly helpful to me. He has a great sense of humor, a great intuition, and a great heart. I trust him.
