Getting to know Richard Mendzef

I have been helping children, teens, students, parents and families for over 20 years in a variety of settings such as school, home and hospital. I have three kids now ranging from high school to college. Our family also has four dogs that we rescued at different times and now they help us to foster other dogs in need of rescue. My personal and professional journey helps ground me in a way that allows me to be sensitive and responsive to a wide variety of life challenges that you or those you love are confronting. As a therapist my goal is assist you through these challenges in a way that helps you feel understood and capable, and provide you with the resources and skills you need to be confident, relieve distress and build resilience.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use a variety of cognitive behavioral therapy theories and tools gained from years of experience to help you feel supported and confident in facing your challenges. Understanding you in the situation and the moment you are in is important to me and essential in helping you find strategies that are practical and effective.
