Getting to know Richard Williams

Richard “Rich” Williams was born into an Air Force family and has literally been around the world. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Upon graduation, Rich entered the United States Air Force as a B-52G Navigator and served his country for a total of 32 years. Following his first career, Rich continued his education by earning his Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology and his Certification as an Addictions Counselor from Troy University in Troy, Alabama where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Rich brings his diverse experience in mental health and substance abuse from the Panhandle of Florida, where he worked for a private practice, outpatient counseling center. Using the best of many intervention methods, his basic counseling technique is Existential with heavy reliance on Cognitive Behavioral Training (CBT). Rich has a proven track record with clients from all walks of life, including clients exhibiting Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), addictive behaviors and other behavioral challenges. Rich is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained and has had great success using this intervention with clients. Rich sees the positive potential in all situations and enjoys helping others find it in their lives as well.
