I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alabama and since receiving my Master of Science in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University in 2014, I’ve worked within school and private practice settings with individuals, families, children and adolescents, teens, and adults in the areas of depression, trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, family dynamics, coping skills, life/career transition, grief, stress management, work-life balance, and relationship issues. Much of my therapeutic style is geared towards you identifying the root cause of your emotional challenges with kindness and self-compassion and ultimately guiding you to process, gain clarity, and develop ways to cope with the lows of your past and current life story. In doing so, you learn how to seek peace when facing future life challenges. Some common theoretical approaches of mine are pulled from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused/Strength-Based Therapy to assist in helping you identify the root cause of your challenges and guiding you towards peace and strength for the journey ahead. Are you a woman who feels trapped in cycles of anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and has struggled to have more confidence, truly love yourself, and be at peace within? Maybe you feel disconnected, overwhelmed by emotional triggers, or caught in patterns that prevent you from living a life of joy and fulfillment. You are my ideal client and I'm ready to help you break free from these cycles, heal your emotional wounds, and take control of your life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe in the power of relationship building. Plain and simple. I take great joy in my ability to be very laid back, very personable, warm, and empathetic. This allows many of my clients to feel seen, and heard in ways that support their personal journey of growth. I have always wanted to help people since growing up and having my own challenges with childhood trauma and seeing how it impacted me as I matured as a young woman. My journey to becoming a therapist has always been because of my personal desire to see other people walk through the healing that they otherwise believe would be impossible to do. I strongly believe that with the right support, any individual can have a new beginning and I'm here to help you create yours. I believe in a collaborative approach. If you desire to work on it, I desire to come alongside you to see how we can tackle your goals together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

What you can expect from our first session together is for us to spend the majority of our time talking about how you’ve been feeling recently, and me asking questions to better understand some of why you may be feeling that way. The first session is about us building an initial connection and helping me get a sense of where we should go from there. Each individual is different, and I like to listen first before assuming I know what will work best for you moving forward.
