Psychotherapist
MO
Hello, I'm Rikki. Our mental health has historically been the last task on our long to-do lists. Even on our best of days, we don’t have the tools we need to regulate, validate, and manage our emotions. Therapy is the place where we can identify those tricky emotions, learn where they come from, and how to work through them. Through our therapeutic process, it is my hope that you will end up on a path to living your best, most authentic life. My journey to becoming a therapist has been anything but a direct path. I graduated from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville in 2010, obtaining my Clinical License (LCSW) in 2013. I have worked in nursing homes, high schools, a Level 1 Trauma Hospital, and a homeless shelter, among other places. Because of these jobs, I have a broad range of experience varying from adolescents, mental health, geriatrics, trauma, homelessness, and more that I’ve collected over the years. It became clearer to me that private practice was a path I wanted to pursue after reflecting on my own major life transitions - including becoming a mother. I continue to recognize that these transitions are familiar to many and that they can be formative but also emotionally challenging. The emotional challenges of this are what have brought me to the world of private practice. In our sessions, I will use a variety of therapy methods. I don’t believe that one method works for everyone. Once we determine your goals, we will work together to determine what path will best suit you, with my support. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, or navigating life transitions, I'm here to help. I also specialize in areas such as family and intimate relationships, medical issues, perinatal support, and spirituality. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your emotions and experiences.
