Rita Zeller, LICSW

Psychotherapist
MA
My journey to becoming a therapist started in 2004 while working as a foster care social worker. Prior to becoming a licensed clinical social worker, I was also employed in elementary, middle, and high schools as a school social worker. Additionally, I worked in community mental health centers and behavioral health units. My experience taught me that our mindset and the approach we take when presented with challenges make all the difference. My approach involves acceptance and commitment strategies along with cognitive behavioral techniques; I partner with clients to collaborate on goals that align with what they value most. Clients can expect to be challenged to address negative thought patterns and behaviors that do not serve them. Accepting what is outside of our control and focusing on what is within our power to change are key components of our sessions. Trust is foundational to the therapeutic process and the courage to be vulnerable while open to changes promotes a sustainable impact.
