Hello, I'm Robert. If you've ever wondered, 'How do you know if you need counseling?' you're not alone. Many people ask themselves this question, and if you have, there's a good chance that counseling can help you. Let's explore some common concerns together: - Do you feel your life is being harmed by a problem you cannot seem to solve? - Do you have emotions that cause lasting pain and distress, such as sadness or anxiety? - Do your relationships with others have a lot of conflict? - Are you dependent on drugs or alcohol to improve your mood? - Are you and your family just not able to cooperate with one another? If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, counseling may be for you. Counseling can help you understand yourself better, make new choices, and gain more control over your relationships. It's a confidential and non-judgmental space where you can work towards happiness with the support of a professional counselor. My counseling style is holistic, warm, and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, holistic, humanistic, psychodynamic, and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. I hold an MA and am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 22 years of experience in private practice. Over the years, I've specialized in areas such as addiction, anger management, anxiety, ADHD, children's and adolescent mental/behavioral health, depression, gender identity, grief/bereavement, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, military/veteran support, multicultural/diversity issues, phobias, PTSD, intimate/romantic relationships, stress, suicidal ideation/self-harming, trauma, and traumatic brain injury. Due to the increase in bullying of the LGBTQ population over the past few years, I have made it a priority to become a 'bullying expert' and advocate for this marginalized group. As a former US Army Infantry service member, I also take pride in providing a safe place for soldiers to receive therapy. Additionally, I have extensive trauma training and utilize a holistic approach to provide clients with as many tools as possible related to self-care and stress management. I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your journey to a more fulfilling life.
