Life can be overwhelming sometimes, and we may feel disconnected from those we care about the most. For many of us, there are days when we want to shut the world out and stay in bed. Many counselors focus on defining the problem and finding practical solutions. If only life were so easy, am I right? Most of the time, we want to feel heard-really heard and seen by another person. A diagnosis can sometimes be helpful in the healing process, but remember, you are more than your diagnosis and practical solutions. Healing begins when you are heard and, most of all, when you feel seen. I have extensive experience counseling military couples and individuals. I specialize in communication, conflict resolution, infidelity, religious trauma, alcohol addiction, and sexology. I hold a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Adler Graduate School and a Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I meet clients where they are and work with them to achieve their life goals. Therapy is process-oriented. It involves delving deeply into individual or couple issues and working together to address them in a manner that nurtures a more holistic lifestyle of wellness. The therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist is vital to the healing process. I provide a warm, nonjudgmental listening presence to all my clients. You are no longer a stranger but a valuable guest when you enter my office. I foster a collaborative environment where you are an active co-participant in your healing process. I look forward to sojourning with you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first meeting is called the intake session. In this session, we begin to get to know each other, discuss what is going on in your life, discuss your goals for counseling, and create a plan together to move forward in helping you achieve holistic health and wellness. The counseling experience is not about quick fixes but healing through relationships, connection, and belonging. My therapeutic frame of reference is interpersonal, sociological, family systems, and existential. Although eclectic in how I approach counseling, my clinical training is in Adlerian psychology. I am here to meet you where you are and walk with you on your healing path.
