Robert DiFranco, LCSW

Psychotherapist
PA
It has been my pleasure to have served as a Clinical Psychiatric Social Worker for 39 years in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. I have lived and worked in the South Hills of Pittsburgh all my life. I am well aware of the wide range of problems people face and use an eclectic approach to therapy that includes Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Exposure Response Prevention, as well as other treatment modalities I am familiar with. I attended Duquesne University for my undergraduate degree and the University of Pittsburgh for my Master's Degree in Social Work. I consider my profession to be a calling, and to that end, I strive to help people achieve health, happiness, and wholeness. My approach My approach to providing care is to initially complete a thorough evaluation leading to a diagnosis. Working collaboratively with clients to develop a treatment plan. I feel that a thorough background assessment is essential, and then commencing with treatment. My focus In therapy, I will prioritize your unique experiences, perspectives, and needs throughout the therapeutic process. I strive to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can feel heard, validated, and empowered to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I try to maintain a strong therapeutic alliance and promote client autonomy and meaningful growth, and self-awareness. My communication style I try to convey empathy, understanding, and support while facilitating the therapeutic process. My communication can be warm and empathetic, neutral, reflective, or even confrontational, depending on the client's requirements and therapeutic goals. I do active listening, ask open-ended questions while maintaining a non-judgmental attitude.
