Robert Donaldson, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Regardless of our current life situation or health, each day offers opportunities for serenity, peace, and even joy. But serious challenges can arise, making this ideal difficult to achieve. In my work with hospice patients, the homeless, and people facing serious addiction and health challenges, I've witnessed firsthand how a sense of serenity can be cultivated even amid major external difficulties. Whether dealing with a significant health or addiction issue, or simply the stressors of a busy modern life, I believe that with the right practical tools, it's possible to bring a sense of enjoyment into any life. It's not always easy, but it's possible. Sometimes we may have a strong intellectual understanding of our problems, yet anxiety, depression, or addiction persist. By intentionally monitoring and aligning our thoughts and behaviors, our emotions calm. We come into balance. Through increased awareness and intention, we heal old hurts and begin experiencing more peace and serenity. I am a licensed psychotherapist (CA LMFT86291) with a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a Master's in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. I think of modern psychotherapy as a sacred art grounded in the ancient healing and storytelling traditions found throughout the world. I am always profoundly honored to share in the personal discoveries that happen in the therapy room. I'd be honored to take that journey of discovery and healing with you.
