I received both my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Substance Abuse and my master’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Stanislaus. While completing my graduate studies, I also received specialized training in substance abuse addiction and played an instrumental role in a leadership program that introduced the Substance Abuse Program to the university. Throughout my career, I’ve provided mental health and substance abuse services to a range of unique populations, including Hispanic families, adults, and children/adolescents in need. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Substance Abuse Counseling, Trauma Focused Therapy, and Crisis Intervention. Why I love working with teens Adolescents genuinely love to connect with others. Some of the funniest, deepest, and most meaningful conversations I have had were with teenagers. I have spent most of my career working with teens in the Merced and Stanislaus Counties Adolescent and Children System of Care. I have helped clients navigate school stressors, heartbreak, conflict with friends, trauma, bereavement issues, identity development, and family difficulties.
