Psychotherapist
189 Liberty St SE, Ste 202D, Salem, OR
Hi there, I'm Robert! Life can be challenging, and we all face moments where we feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward. I specialize in helping individuals navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, interpersonal conflicts, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, and more. I also have experience supporting military veterans and couples as they work through unique struggles and build stronger connections. We can discuss my approach and start working on a plan during our first conversation. My approach I know therapy can be awkward and terrifying. That’s why my approach to therapy is client-centered, meaning I meet you where you are and address the concerns you identify. Together, we’ll create a space where you feel heard and understood, and we’ll work collaboratively toward your goals. My focus My client focus is adults who may have had therapy in the past, or this would be your first time. As mentioned above, therapy can be scary and I want to create a professional relationship where we can share information about difficulties your facing today or past events that still creep in from time to time. My communication style I practice a listening and guiding approach. I believe everyone has a unique style of communicating to get their needs met, and during our first few sessions, we will find a good way to communicate with each other. I prefer to ask if you're ready for me to provide any suggestions or corrections before blurting them out and telling you what you should or shouldn't do because you know where the problem areas are, and I want to help you resolve them. My journey to mental healthcare My journey to completing my MSW and achieving my independent license was a long one. I was an atypical college student. I didn't start college until honorably discharging from the United States Army and being a father.
