Getting to know Robert Henry
Though I am not qualified to help with medications, I have supported families, couples, and individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and substance abuse disorder related to challenges in reaching vocational, spiritual, and relational hopes and dreams, as well as matters of Christian faith. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Liberty University. While my first session is an intake assessment, I believe it typically takes at least four sessions (weekly or bi-weekly) to provide meaningful help to clients. I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and a person-centered approach for most talk therapy, and I am also certified to use Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma. When needed, I assist parents and grandparents with specialized parenting techniques to support biological, foster, and adopted children who have various emotional and behavioral concerns, including Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD).
What should a new client know about working with you?
During the first session, we will do an intake assessment that will help us decide together how to move forward, such what issues are most pressing for you, how often it would be best to schedule therapy sessions and which therapeutic approach may be more beneficial for your particular needs.
