Are you feeling the pressure to keep it all together, no matter what? Do you find yourself bottling up your feelings, trying to push through—only to notice burnout, anxiety, irritability, or growing distance in your relationships? Were you taught to stay strong and silent, only to realize it’s taking a toll—on your mood, your energy, or even your health? You’re not alone. Many people quietly carry more than they let on, believing they have to handle everything themselves. But what if your strength isn’t in hiding the struggle, but in facing it? I believe that there is nothing wrong with you and that you are not the sole cause of the distress you might be feeling. Our sessions often help clients shine light on social and environmental factors that aren’t supporting them and causing them pain. Life is hard and my goal is to help you understand yourself, and foster your capacity and resiliency to navigate any challenges that you might face. I work with all clients—including fathers—who are ready to break cycles of generational trauma and show up differently for their kids, their partners, and themselves. Whether you're dealing with stress, grief, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can offer a space to let your guard down and reconnect with what matters most. Robert Pritchett is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and is currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner, John Lewis.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Please note that I am only in network for Health Net members in California, and I am unable to offer ADHD testing and assessments. My role is to create a safe and empathetic environment where we can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Together, we will work on developing coping strategies, improving communication skills, fostering resilience, and harnessing the power of change. The journey is collaborative, as clients bring their unique perspectives, and I guide them toward greater self-awareness and understanding. The process of therapy can be transformative. Clients often report feeling a renewed sense of hope and clarity after our sessions. It is my privilege to witness their growth and the positive changes they implement in their lives. Ultimately, my goal is to empower clients to take charge of their well-being and navigate their challenges with confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I utilize an approach that combines a psychodynamic understanding of how our past influences our present, a narrative approach to co-author a new preferred story for clients' lives moving forward, and a toolkit of CBT and DBT skills and strategies for emotional regulation for a lifetime of well-being. In therapy, I bring a sense of curiosity and acceptance with the ability to kindly challenge clients and hold them accountable to their values and goals. Humor, humility, and positive regard are always present in our sessions. For Couples: Lasting and fulfilling relationships demand intentional effort and vulnerability from both partners. In a safe and non-judgmental environment, I support couples in exploring the underlying fears, attachment wounds, emotions, and resentments that may be contributing to unhealthy patterns in their relationship. I help couples enhance their communication and listening skills while working to establish a stronger foundation for intimacy and connection. My approach is grounded in attachment theory and emotionally focused therapy (EFT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and relational strategies.
