Getting to know Robert Lynch

*Please Expect a Phone Call from our Office - Resilience Therapy* Hi, I'm Robert. I work with men, young professionals, and college students who are used to powering through, and are starting to realize that powering through isn't working anymore. Burnout that used to be manageable isn't. Anxiety that used to stay quiet now shows up everywhere. If you've been telling yourself you'll deal with it later, I'm the therapist for later. My approach is direct and collaborative — we won't spend sessions talking in circles. I'm trained in CBT, DBT, ACT, and Emotionally Focused approaches, and I draw on all of them depending on what fits best for you. I also bring a multicultural lens to my work: as someone with a shared heritage, I'm attuned to the ways that identity, family expectation, and cultural background shape the pressures people carry, often without naming them.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often tell me they were skeptical about therapy before we started. That it seemed like a lot of talking without much to show for it. I hear that, and I assure you that I work differently. Sessions with me are active, I'll ask direct questions, offer real feedback, and help you leave with something concrete. I specialize in anxiety, burnout, men's mental health, stress management, and life transitions. I also work from a trauma-focused lens, which can be especially helpful for people who've tried traditional talk therapy and felt like something was missing. I'm also equally comfortable working with first-timers and clients who want something more structured than what they've tried before.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Early sessions are about getting a full picture. This means learning your history, your current stressors, and what you want to actually be different, because you know your life best. My job is to bring the clinical lens that helps you see the patterns you're too close to notice. From there, we build. Whether that means processing old trauma, restructuring anxious thinking with CBT, or developing concrete tools you can use between sessions, the work is always in service of something specific. Our goal is for you to leave each session feeling more grounded, empowered, and confident in your own skin.
