MA
What is Rob’s approach to therapy? Rob Mudge is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) who offers a relaxed, client-centered, and empathetic therapeutic style where individuals feel truly heard and understood. He creates a supportive space for self-exploration, identity development, and meaning-making, balancing serious emotional work with opportunities for curiosity, excitement, and even humor. What does Rob specialize in? Rob works with clients navigating personal identity formation, men’s issues, spirituality and contemplative issues, self-esteem and self-worth, relationship conflicts and family-systems dynamics, depression and anxiety. His goal is to help clients deepen their self-understanding and discover unique sources of meaning and fulfillment in their lives. What happens in the first session? Rob shares, “The first therapy session is a fantastic chance for both the therapist and client to assess for fit in the clinical relationship. I use the first session (and really the first few sessions) in order to get a sense of what brings the client to therapy, get a sense of who the major relationships are/were in this person’s life, assess major sources of meaning (work, relationships, hobbies/interests). I also try to allow for clients to see my personality and get a sense for how I tend to operate in a clinical fashion. I will ask clients about their own past experience in therapy, what their expectations are for therapy, and may even explore what something like therapy means to them. I talk a little bit about my own approach to the work, including giving some insights into theoretical orientation.” How can I work with Rob for counseling? Rob offers therapy online via a secure video platform for clients located throughout Massachusetts. He provides flexible scheduling with daytime, afternoon, and evening availability to accommodate clients’ needs.
