“I have been with Dr. Bob for years, and he has been a highly-appreciated, mostly-objective sounding board for me. Whenever I have felt as though I may have not successfully navigated certain situations, he has encouraged me. I often give others the benefit of the doubt, but have a hard time doing the same for myself. Bob encourages me to trust myself: my perception, feelings, judgements, and actions. I will always be a work in progress, but I couldn't recommend Bob enough to do the work with.”

Getting to know Robert Nolan

I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida with over 25 years of experience working as a counselor, college professor, and consultant. I hold a Master's degree in Counselor Education from the University of South Florida. I have worked with clients facing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, lifestyle changes, personality disorders, Bipolar disorder, and ADHD. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical and emotional trauma, as well as substance abuse issues. Many of us feel a lack of emotional stability from time to time. Seeking a more complete and happier life and taking the first steps toward change need to be encouraged and supported. If you are ready to make a change, I am here to support and empower you. I am confident this is something we can do together, and I look forward to working with you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

My counseling style is considerate and personable. I believe in treating all people with compassion, respect, and sensitivity, and I believe that you know yourself best. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our relationship and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
