Hi there, I'm Robert! Hello, my name is Rob, and I have been in practice for over 30 years. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University. I have experience with virtually all populations, including working with children, teens, adults, families, and marriage counseling. I have worked with substance abuse treatment and multiple mood and other psychological disorders. I have helped folks deal with vocational issues as well as relationship problems. My approach I normally utilize reality and cognitive behavioral therapy. My focus I treat a wide variety of issues but usually provide short-term, solution-focused counseling designed to deliver concrete, measurable results. My communication style I am supportive and empathetic, but I am fairly blunt and direct in reflecting back to my clients what they are doing so they can make more productive choices. My journey to mental healthcare I became a professional counselor after a series of hardships that required a long road to recovery and the help and assistance of a variety of wonderful people. These events included getting crushed by an automobile, the traumatic death of my father, and the chaotic dissolution of my family and primary support group. My goals for you I focus on a client’s strengths and how best to use these attributes to achieve concrete, measurable results. My first session with you Clients should expect a complete assessment of their situation and strengths and to formulate some initial, concrete, and measurable goals.
