Psychotherapist

I’ve experienced the pain of OCD myself, and I’ve experienced the relief that comes with treatment. ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) is highly effective. It doesn't just work well for some people—it works very well for a great many people. As a therapist, I have a warm personality and put people at ease. I will teach you how OCD perpetuates itself. The more you know about it, the easier it is to motivate yourself to break that cycle. I also have extensive experience helping people with anger, grief, and mood regulation. My personal connection to OCD and mental health I am very transparent that I have my own diagnosis of OCD and that was how I got into this field. I've gone through ERP therapy myself, and I think that really helps with compassion. What I want to help you see in yourself I like helping you recognize your own strength. With OCD, people tend to have a disposition towards black and white thinking. That often comes at the cost of downplaying our successes because they weren't "perfect," or feel "small" to us. I really do try to challenge that and help you see your own strength. How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy I find that authenticity from my end is very helpful. It's hard to ask for authenticity from others without being authentic yourself. Beyond that, a lot of it comes down to non-judgment. My message to you if you're scared to start ERP therapy You always have the right to say, "hey, this is a little too difficult today," or "this is not something I want to do at all." We might have a conversation about it to better understand your perspective, but you are the one who can make that call if you feel like something is too much. I'm going to respect that.
