What should a new client know about working with you?

In my professional experience, I have found that the therapeutic alliance is one of the most important aspects of counseling. I can build rapport quickly by fostering a safe, trusting, and workable environment for clients to explore and process their concerns. Also, I empower clients to share any feedback or concerns regarding my services for my professional growth and to ensure satisfaction.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

After clients complete an intake, during our first session, I will ask questions to supplement the intake and to gain a fuller picture. I take some time when assessing clients in order to not be quick to provide a diagnosis and instead be as informed as possible. Although sessions include a clinical piece, I also try to make sure clients are comfortable in a more relaxed environment. This combination seems to be the one that makes the most difference!
