Hi there, I'm Roberto! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Whittier, California, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Oaks College and a Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge. I work with adolescents and specialize in stress, anxiety, and family separation/loss, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist my clients in making progress and start feeling better. My approach I take a creative approach to therapy, which varies based on the needs of each client. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and emphasize building strong and stable therapeutic relationships to focus on target areas for growth. My focus I have found a strong fit working with children, teens, and young adults who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, stress, conflict, separation, and more. I work with clients to build skills that allow them to feel better about themselves. My communication style My communication style is calm, personable, approachable, and often relatable. I welcome my clients to discuss any topic openly. My journey to mental healthcare I made the decision to become a therapist early in life, as I take pride in helping others grow. This came in many different scenarios—whether on the basketball court, as a peer counselor in school, volunteering in my community, or being available as a friend. I enjoy being part of individuals becoming the best versions of themselves. My goals for you I often begin by building a stable and healthy therapeutic relationship with my clients. This foundation helps clients feel comfortable in therapy. My approach to goal setting is collaborative, working together to establish what is wanted during our time together. Over time, I hope to set goals and track your progress as we work side by side.
