Psychotherapist
1717 W Northwest Blvd, Ste 2A & 2B, Spokane, WA
I want to share a bit more about how I approach therapy so you have a clear sense of what our work together may feel like. My work is relational and attachment-based, grounded in the belief that healing happens within safe and supportive relationships. The therapeutic relationship we build is central—our sessions are a space to bring your full self without judgment, where we explore experiences with curiosity and compassion. I am trauma-informed and recognize the ways stress, loss, chronic overwhelm, or earlier experiences can shape how we think, feel, and relate to others. We will always work at a pace that feels respectful of your nervous system and your boundaries. I also use a family systems lens, understanding that none of us exist in isolation. Our histories, identities, relationships, and environments all matter. When helpful, we’ll look at patterns across time and relationships—not to assign blame, but to support clarity, choice, and change. In our work together, you may notice elements of: Emotion-focused and somatic strategies to understand and regulate emotional experiences Cognitive-behavioral tools to shift patterns of thought or behavior that are no longer helpful Narrative and strengths-based approaches that highlight resilience, meaning, and growth My practice is non-pathologizing. I believe every person’s way of moving through the world makes sense in the context of their experiences. Together, we will honor your strengths, understand the protective strategies you’ve developed, and work toward the life and relationships you want. This is collaborative work. Your voice, goals, and pace will guide the process. I’m here to accompany, support, challenge gently, and help you make sense of the story you are living. Please feel welcome to ask questions at any time about my methods or the direction of therapy. Your clarity and comfort matter.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Your first session is about getting to know you, your history, and what brings you to therapy. We’ll explore your goals, any symptoms you’re experiencing, and what you hope will feel different in your life. You’ll also have a chance to ask questions about my approach, confidentiality, scheduling, and what therapy will look like going forward. There is no need to prepare anything—just come as you are. Your session is a dedicated space for you to feel safe, supported, and heard. We’ll begin by checking in about how you’ve been and identifying what feels most important to focus on that day. You’re welcome to bring specific concerns, questions, or goals, or we can explore what naturally arises. No preparation is required—just come as you are. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and you’re encouraged to let me know at any time if something feels too fast, too slow, or emotionally activating. My role is to support you, offer reflection, introduce helpful tools or perspectives, and help you understand patterns that may be affecting your well-being. At the end of the session, we may identify next steps, skills to practice, or insights to reflect on. You can always ask for clarification about anything we discuss. Your comfort, agency, and clarity matter.
