Getting to know Robin Chilton

Life doesn't just happen to us. It invites us to become someone new. I help people move through life's biggest transitions not just to get through them, but to grow through them. Whether you're facing anxiety, stepping into parenthood, healing after infertility or loss, working through trauma, or standing at the edge of an unfamiliar chapter, these moments hold more than pain.... they hold the potential for real transformation. You don't have to navigate that shift alone, and you don't have to have it all figured out to begin. Together, we'll create a space where you can slow down, breathe, and reconnect with who you are beneath the overwhelm. From there, we'll do the deeper work: understanding your patterns, healing what's held you back, and building the grounded confidence to meet whatever comes next—not as the person you were before, but as the person you're becoming.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is really a conversation. Open, curious, and honest. I won't hand you a script or tell you who to be. Instead, I'll ask questions, wonder alongside you, and help you dig underneath the anxiety or tension to find out what's actually going on... and what it's asking of you. Change doesn't usually come from being told what to do. It comes from finally having the space to hear yourself clearly, maybe for the first time in a while. As that clarity builds, session by session, you start to notice something shifting—not just relief, but a different relationship with yourself. Lighter. Steadier. More you. That's the work: not fixing what's "wrong," but uncovering who you already are underneath the noise, and helping you build a life that actually fits that person.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is warm, collaborative, and rooted in one belief: there's almost always more beneath the surface than what we first name as "the problem." Anxiety, stuckness, overwhelm—these are usually signals, not the whole story. Therapy is where we slow down enough to listen to what they're actually pointing to. Together, we'll trace the patterns that keep showing up—the ones quietly running the show—and start to loosen their grip. This isn't just insight for its own sake. As we go, we'll build practical tools alongside that understanding, so the shift you feel in session starts showing up in your actual life: your relationships, your choices, the way you talk to yourself. Change doesn't happen all at once, and it doesn't happen on anyone else's timeline. My job is to hold a space honest enough that you can tell the truth in it, steady enough that you can fall apart if you need to, and spacious enough that real, lasting change—not just coping—has room to take root.
