Psychotherapist

If you’re someone who spends your days taking care of others, chances are you’re holding a lot. You’re the steady one. The helper. The one people count on. And over time, that can lead to compassion fatigue, burnout, and feeling like there’s not much left for you. I work exclusively with adults—especially helpers, including teachers, parents of teens, and others in caregiving or service roles—who are navigating stress, anxiety, life transitions, and emotional exhaustion. Whether you’re feeling burned out, stretched thin, or just not quite like yourself anymore, therapy can be a space where you get to be supported. With more than 20 years of experience working in school settings, I have a deep understanding of the demands placed on educators. That perspective carries into my work with all helpers—people who give a lot, often without enough space to recharge. My approach is trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT, polyvagal theory, and nervous system awareness. I also value the connection between mental health and overall wellness, including nutrition, and we can explore how daily habits support (or deplete) your emotional well-being. Humor is welcome here. Sometimes it helps us breathe. Sometimes it protects something tender. If it’s doing both, we’ll gently explore that together. Nature deeply influences my work—seasons, roots, resilience, growth. Healing isn’t about forcing change; it’s about creating the right conditions for it. I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS) in North Carolina and also provide supervision for LCMHCAs. If you’re used to being the one who shows up for everyone else, this may be the space where someone finally shows up for you.
