What should a new client know about working with you?

My way of working is empowering, engaging, and solution-oriented. I am committed to creating an atmosphere of trust and safety in our work together and have 22 years of experience working with people across the lifespan. The therapeutic approaches used are designed to fit with each client's unique needs, goals and age and stage of life. For trauma and anxiety/panic attacks EMDR and CBT/mindfulness may be utilized but ultimately I am attuning to you as an individual and what resonates/works for you or your child are the approaches used. However, regardless of approach, I am aware that the single most important indicator of a good outcome in therapy is not the approach but the therapeutic relationship. My aim is to build rapport, understanding of your needs, connection and through this work together, to meet your goals and find resolution to what has brought you into therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In a typical session, there is no typical session! However, a basic structure is a check-in about what's been happening over the past week, and from there it is decided what will happen next. With more structured therapies such as EMDR there are stages of therapy so the session largely depends on what stage a client is in. Overall, how a session goes depends on client need and the kind of therapy or therapies being utilized.
