Robyn Lancaster, LMSW

Psychotherapist
NY
My work centers around young professionals and adults who are facing work-related stress, life transitions, people-pleasing, and burnout. In my sessions, you can expect a welcoming space to discover a better way to live each day. We will spend time going over coping skills, identifying successes, and creating space for the tough moments to better understand all aspects of the human experience and how to navigate it. Therapy won't always be easy as we undo beliefs that no longer serve you but ultimately, we will find what works best for you. In my sessions, you can expect to be warmly welcomed with gentle nudges to new directions. Growth is a beautiful process that typically includes vulnerability, maybe some tears and a bit of laughter. The courage it might have taken you to approach therapy is incredible. Whether you're ready to dive right in or maybe just dip a toe, I'll be here alongside you. We will work together at your speed with a few nudges to put on the gas or pump the brakes a bit.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My primary work is with young professionals and adults as they navigate life transitions, identity shifts, burnout, people-pleasing, work-related stress, organization, and communication challenges. I bring experience from multiple fields, including substance use disorder treatment, mental health housing, kidney dialysis, and parent education. I use an eclectic approach that incorporates Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices, all grounded in trauma-informed care that is culturally responsive.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

If you've come to counseling feeling a bit lost, maybe a bit worn out and possibly overwhelmed, we can take a big deep breath together. Therapy is a journey together and I'll be here every step of the way as we discover what helps you become the best version of you.
