Getting to know Rocio Borda

I am a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern working under the supervision of Eva Gonzalez, LMHC. I support individuals, couples, and families by creating a compassionate and collaborative space to explore challenges, improve communication, and build healthier patterns. I work with adolescents (13+) and adults in English and Spanish, treating concerns such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, personality disorders, and grief. I also support relationship concerns, life transitions, and family dynamics. My approach is systemic and tailored to each client, using evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, psychodynamic, solution-focused, exposure, and trauma-focused therapies. I also have experience working with diverse populations and substance use concerns, incorporating motivational interviewing and relapse prevention strategies. My goal is to meet you where you are and support meaningful, lasting change. Session Information (Self-Pay Rates) • Therapy Evaluation: $180 (60 minutes) • Therapy Follow-Up: $160 (60 minutes) These rates apply to self-pay patients. If you are using insurance, the cost of services will be determined by your insurance plan based on your specific benefits, copay, coinsurance, or deductible.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you start therapy with me, my goal is for you to feel comfortable, safe, and truly heard. I know it is not always easy to open up, so I move at your pace and create a space where you can share without feeling judged or pressured. In our sessions, we will gently explore what has been coming up for you, including your thoughts, emotions, and relationship patterns, and work together to better understand them. I also focus on practical tools you can use outside of session so you feel supported not just here, but in your everyday life. I see therapy as a collaborative process. We will check in often, adjust as needed, and focus on what feels most helpful to you. My intention is to help you feel more connected, more confident, and more like yourself as you move forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we begin working together, I take time to understand your story, what you are currently experiencing, and what you would like to get out of therapy. This helps us build a plan that feels meaningful and aligned with your goals. In our ongoing sessions, we will have open, conversational discussions where you can explore your emotions and gain a deeper understanding of yourself. I also incorporate practical tools and strategies that you can use in your daily life, so therapy feels helpful beyond our time together. As we continue, we will check in on your progress and adjust as needed. My goal is to make sure our work stays focused, supportive, and aligned with what matters most to you.
