She is bilingual, speaking fluent English and Spanish. Romelia holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern California Seminary. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 106554) with extensive experience counseling individuals, children, high-risk teenagers, families, and couples. She also facilitates domestic violence groups, performs assessments using risk instruments, diagnoses, and develops and implements treatment plans. Romelia strives to help people make the most of available resources to succeed independently, even after services have ended. She has provided bilingual counseling to a diverse caseload under the supervision of Dr. Kent Layton, Psy.D., Forensic Psychologist. Romelia offers Faith-Based Crisis Intervention and therapy tailored to the client's preferences. During sessions, she considers the person's strengths, cultural background, belief system, and any trauma they may have experienced.
