Getting to know Romelvi Medrano

My main goal when it comes to therapy is to have my clients understand the potential they have to change their own lives. I specialize in empowermering my clients and providing them with skills that can help them keep their power in order to improve their work life, social life, relationships, and mental health as a whole. I have immense belief in my clients. I want to see them succeed. Everyone deserves a chance to live the best life they possibly can, and it is always an honor to be a part of that journey. As long as you want to make a change, I'll be there for you as much as I can.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I mostly use CBT, Reality, and IFS therapy when in my one-on-one sessions. CBT is to help manage symptoms, Reality therapy is to empower , and IFS is for exploration and understanding. For my in-person sessions, I use Sand Tray therapy to help explore trauma and our implicit memories. Gottman method is used when working with couples to focus on building trust, communication, and understanding.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In a typical session, we would start off by catching up since the last session. I allow the client to dictate what they believe is a priority to discuss in session. If they have trouble thinking of a topic, I refer back to their original goals for therapy or bring up a topic that we may have put a pin on in the past. I try to make sure everything that is brought throughout our time in therapy is discussed at one point or another. I want to leave no stone unturn.
