Psychotherapist
FL
Hello, I'm Dr. Reid. If you’re on this site, you’re likely struggling with some aspect of your mental health or wanting to change problematic behavior. Finding the right therapist to help you is important. This may be your first time seeking help, or you may have had previous therapy; regardless, I admire your courage and willingness to focus on being your best self. Everyone has unique circumstances, so I take time to get to know you personally, your strengths, limitations, and I customize treatment accordingly. I don't take a cookie cutter approach. Each session, we set an agenda, review improvements, and work as a team to focus on your treatment goals. My therapeutic work is evidence-based, informed by years of clinical experience and research, and together we will track your changes to assess your progress toward your goals. An interesting fact: engaging in the therapeutic process will make it 4 times more likely that you will achieve the change you want compared to no therapy at all. That’s significant. If you decide to work with me, I will do my part to ensure you achieve your goals. A little about me! After obtaining my master’s degree in social work and a doctorate degree in psychology with a dual emphasis in neuropsychology and marriage and family therapy, I pursued post-doctoral training at UCLA and Harvard Medical School. I’ve had specialized training in adult ADHD, behavioral addictions such as problem gambling and compulsive sexual behavior disorder (e.g., sex addiction), and diagnostic assessment of complex psychiatric disorders. While working with these mental health conditions, I also routinely help reduce emotionally painful feelings such as co-occurring depression and anxiety. If you think we might be a good match, let’s get to work.
