Rose Alvarez, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hello, I'm Rose, a Licensed Professional Counselor and School Counselor dedicated to working with adolescents and adults in both one-to-one and group settings. My passion lies in guiding my clients through a variety of challenges, with a particular focus on trauma, abuse, anxiety, mood disorders, and loss/grief. I also have extensive experience addressing issues that teens face, such as self-esteem, depression, bullying, obesity, academic problems, and peer pressure. I earned my Bachelor's in Biology with a minor in Psychology from the University of Houston in 2002. Following that, I completed my Master of Arts in Education in Counseling in 2006 from Prairie View A & M. Shortly after, I took the National Counselor Examination to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). My approach to counseling is eclectic, drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to address anxiety, PTSD, mood disorders, and substance abuse. I firmly believe that building a strong client-therapist relationship is crucial to the healing process. Together, we will set goals and create a plan tailored to your unique needs. I understand that it can be difficult to ask for help, but when life presents challenges that feel overwhelming, I'm here to support you. Let's work together to navigate these obstacles and find a path forward. Reach out, and let's start this journey together.
