Getting to know Rose Hedreen

As a somatic-based psychotherapist, I offer a safe container to connect with one’s inner world, find a sense of safety and support within the body and nervous system, grow in self-compassion and self-trust, and reconnect with the world and people around us. I am a licensed psychotherapist (LICSW), receiving my MSW from Columbia University in 2021. I completed the 3 year Somatic Experiencing training in 2023 and hold certifications in trauma-focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and family systems/constellations. I am a level 1 birth doula, with experience supporting women in hormonal or birth journeys. As a woman who is on her own health journey, I understand the significant interplay between hormones and mental health. I support adolescents and adults of all ages in Massachusetts. I offer in person sessions in Williamstown, MA and virtual services state-wide.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I support clients in regulating the nervous system, which helps them to grow their capacity to hold life’s complexity as well as its joys. I believe that the body holds the answers to some of our deepest questions and that we are our own greatest experts. Oftentimes our “somatic” experience, the emotions, feelings, and thoughts we hold in our bodies, can provide us with a roadmap to a greater understanding of ourselves, our needs, and the world.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Through gentle inquiry and a curious and compassionate approach, I assist clients in finding what creates a greater sense of aliveness, trust, and connection in their lives. I will always ask you where you’d like our session to go and deeply value client empowerment and a balanced therapeutic dynamic. I believe that we all have the intrinsic capacity to heal and that the right space can support this process. When met with unconditional regard and deep listening, we have the space to fully meet ourselves, wherever we are.
