Getting to know Dr. Roslyn Shoket

To paraphrase a wise philosopher, I want to help you be who you are and become what you are capable of becoming. For more than 30 years as a psychologist, I have provided psychotherapy to a large and diverse population in my private practice. Some of the goals of therapy include supporting your potential for growth, helping you gain understanding and insight into your own emotions and behaviors as well as the complexities present in relationships with others. Together, we'll work toward a resolution of problems and an improved sense of well-being. In addition to my private practice, I worked for many years as a Certified School Counselor, helping students develop the emotional and behavioral skills they needed to cope with difficult family situations, learn to resolve conflicts, and manage the stresses and anxieties in their academic and social lives. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and am a fully Licensed Psychologist in Pennsylvania. While this degree is not a listed option on the Grow Therapy platform, I have been advised to select PsyD as the closest representation of my experience and credentials. I completed my PsyD in Mental Health Counseling at Temple University, which further enriched my training and expertise in supporting mental health and well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our first session, you will have an opportunity to tell me a bit about yourself, share the issues that bring you to seek help, ask questions, and set some preliminary goals for counseling success. Subsequent sessions will focus on exploring and clarifying thoughts, feelings, and issues, and choosing courses of actions that will lead to resolution. Coping techniques are offered in a warm and supportive setting.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
