Getting to know Roya Bayat-Makoui

I am a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) with an MBA degree and a Master's in Counseling from Alliant International University, along with many years of working experience. The majority of my psychotherapy experience has been at a trauma center, working with clients of all ages and cultural backgrounds. I also have years of experience with the forensic population in both group and individual therapy settings, using an eclectic approach to address PTSD, depression, anxiety, situational stress, loss and grief, as well as work and family difficulties. Using a humanistic approach, I work closely with clients, couples, and families to improve communication skills and habits for meaningful connections. Initial trauma happens at birth, and we experience different types and degrees of trauma throughout our lives. For a meaningful life, it is essential to address these in a safe and compassionate environment to develop healthy coping skills and move forward, knowing that we are not alone on this journey.
