Ruqaiyah Rogers, LMSW

Psychotherapist
MI
My name is Ruqaiyah Rogers, and I'm a licensed clinical social worker, LMSW-C, based in Michigan. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Grand Valley State University. I provide individual counseling and therapy services statewide via telehealth. I work with adults and specialize in coaching strategies for better managing ADHD and executive functioning symptoms, anxiety, borderline personality, mother-daughter/parent-adult child attachment, and codependency. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and Brainspotting to help my clients gain clarity about who they are and start making positive, necessary changes to create the life they want and deserve. My approach My approach to therapy is relational, meaning I meet you where you are within your reality, life perspective, and experiences. From there, I use techniques that get to the root of the changes you want and need to make in your life. In sessions with me, I will share more information about the treatment modality I would like to try with you. Often, I use brain-, body-, and trauma-based therapies such as Brainspotting and EMDR, alongside talk-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. My focus I have found that my style of therapy is a good fit for neurodivergent adults, particularly those struggling with ongoing life stressors from juggling the pressing demands of life/work balance, dating, and parenting stressors-whether as a single parent or in a relationship where you still feel like a single parent. I also work with young and middle-aged adults who suspect or have been newly diagnosed with ADHD and who struggle daily with focus and concentration, feeling overwhelmed, trouble making decisions, difficulty getting started on tasks like household chores, homework, or getting to appointments on time. Overall, life feels harder than it should be, making it difficult to set and achieve goals.
