Psychotherapist
PA
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor who believes therapy should feel supportive, collaborative, and genuinely human. I work with adolescents and adults who may be navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief and loss, relationship concerns, life transitions, emotional dysregulation, or periods of feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from themselves. My approach is warm, compassionate, direct, and nonjudgmental. I believe that meaningful change begins when you feel safe enough to be honest about what you are experiencing without feeling judged, rushed, or misunderstood. I take time to understand not only your symptoms, but also your experiences, relationships, patterns, strengths, and the circumstances that have shaped how you see yourself and the world. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, trauma-informed care, strengths-based therapy, and other techniques depending on your individual needs. I also enjoy helping clients understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, behaviors, nervous-system responses, and past experiences. Therapy with me is not about simply telling you what to do. It is a collaborative process where we explore what is happening beneath the surface, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward meaningful and sustainable change. My goal is for you to leave therapy with greater insight, stronger coping skills, and a deeper understanding of yourself.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapy style is conversational, engaged, and collaborative. I am not the type of therapist who simply sits quietly and takes notes while you do all of the talking. I will listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, offer feedback, help you recognize patterns, and gently challenge you when it may help you grow. At the same time, I believe therapy should move at your pace. Some sessions may involve deeper emotional work, while others may focus on problem-solving, coping skills, processing something that happened during the week, or simply creating space for you to talk through what you are experiencing. I often describe therapy as a dance. Sometimes we slow things down and give an experience the time and attention it needs; other times we move more quickly toward solutions, insight, or new strategies. I adjust my approach based on what you need in that moment. You can expect me to be warm, compassionate, honest, and present with you. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can show up as yourself without needing to have everything figured out before you walk through the door.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first sessions are focused on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy, what you are currently experiencing, and what you would like to be different. We will talk about your symptoms, life experiences, relationships, strengths, coping strategies, and any patterns that may be contributing to your current concerns. Together, we will identify goals for therapy and develop a treatment approach that fits your individual needs. A typical session begins with checking in about how you have been doing and what feels most important to address that day. From there, the session may involve processing recent experiences, exploring thoughts and emotions, identifying behavioral or relationship patterns, developing coping strategies, practicing mindfulness or grounding techniques, or working through deeper underlying issues such as trauma, grief, self-esteem, anxiety, or negative beliefs. I do not believe every session needs to follow the exact same structure. Therapy is individualized, and what you need may change from week to week. Some sessions may be structured and skill-focused, while others may involve deeper reflection and emotional processing. Throughout our work together, we will regularly evaluate your progress, celebrate improvements, identify areas that still need attention, and adjust your treatment goals when needed. My goal is for therapy to provide both insight and practical tools that you can use outside of the therapy room in your everyday life.
