Getting to know Ruth Alcantara-Zboinski

I get it. You’re tired of feeling stuck, exhausted, and like nothing’s really changing. You’ve been carrying a lot, and it’s starting to feel heavy. As an informed trauma therapist, I’m passionate about walking alongside adults on their healing journey-especially those navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. Whether you're a professional burning out, a first responder facing emotional pain, or a student trying to find your footing, I offer support rooted in compassion and tools like EMDR and CBT. More importantly, I create a space where you can show up just as you are and feel truly seen, safe, and supported.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is honest, warm, inviting and genuine therapist committed to helping you achieve your goals through empowerment. Every person is unique and so my approach to therapy is unique. We may start out with talk therapy and then you find out through a float back in history that you have abuse, trauma, or fear that you would like to address through EMDR. Therapy is customized to you and your reasons for coming to therapy. If you are interested in EMDR you must have a large enough screen and at least an hour committed to the session. I have successfully conducted EMDR via video and highly encourage it if you are looking for a different yet effective way of dealing with life hardships.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I provide the space where anything can be discussed in privacy and with an open mind. The therapeutic relationship is instrumental in your healing. My practice begins with your first session. If it is determined to be a good fit, we move on to a scheduled intake assessment, establish a baseline, and create a therapeutic plan. Therapy is interactive, structured, and yet flexible enough for you to freely express yourself. When you are ready to take that first step towards healing, schedule the session. After filling out the demographic form, you'll receive an email from my billing company Headway. They process insurance and co-payments. See you soon, Ruth
