Getting to know Ruth Close Medley
Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the great state of Texas. I am happy you are reaching out and partnering in this journey of bringing out the best in yourself, and I am here for you! I provide therapy services to all clients throughout Texas. If you feel stuck or misunderstood because of life's experiences causing anxiety, stress, or trauma, I can help. I have always had a heart for helping people, which I demonstrated throughout my career in the military and civil service, and later when I began my counseling journey in 2010. I earned my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Counseling is a ministry I am passionate about, helping people of all ages navigate and overcome a variety of life's challenges. Good mental health positively affects our physical health, and it is important for everyone to have the opportunity to receive mental health services. If a client qualifies, I accept sliding scale fees. I have been attentive to the needs of at-risk residential and outpatient children, adults, and families, while ensuring a welcoming, trusting, no-judgment environment. I also work to effect positive change using methods and tools that empower individuals-both adults and youth-and families experiencing unexpected life trials.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
