Ruth Vivian, LCSW

Psychotherapist
DE
I've been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice in Delaware for five years. As a psychotherapist, I help women and children heal from trauma and achieve their goals using evidence-based therapeutic techniques. Creative expression, the exploration of meaning, faith, and spirituality, overcoming fears and obstacles, and experiencing fulfillment are cornerstones of my professional style. While some clients benefit from specific types of therapy like DBT or EMDR, others grow from being heard and having the space to figure out problems in life. Still, other clients struggle with severe mental illness. I have worked with all of these populations and more. Well wishes! My approach After meeting a client, taking their history, and understanding their goals, I present therapeutic ideas on modalities or activities that could be used to achieve the goal of the client, whether that is resolving trauma, building self-esteem, or coping with treatment-resistant depression. Depending on the case, we might fully employ a type of therapy or utilize parts specifically to help the situation at hand. Some therapies I utilize include Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Beyond this I take a strengths-based and Jungian approach, as I find acknowledging universal consciousness, synchronicities, and archetypes helps clients find deeper meaning and connection in their lives. I often assist clients in improving mindfulness, self-care skills, and building relationships. My focus If you have a small problem or a big problem; if you're hurting a little or a lot, I may be able to help. Here is a list of therapies I specifically provide and diagnoses or situations I specialize in working with so you can see if I can provide what you're looking for. In all contexts, I always provide trauma-informed care.
