“I was connected to Ryan via ZocDoc and have been seeing him religiously for 3 years. I was never able to stick with my prior therapists, but Ryan immediately made me feel comfortable and created a judgement free space. His approach is very individualized and we went only as fast as I was comfortable with. No problem felt too big or too small to discuss. His care has been instrumental in significant and positive life changes in my life in the past several years. I have been able to call on him during challenging times over the years and he has always made me feel like a priority. ”

“Ryan Beatty is a godsend. I originally went to him (reluctantly) after having some severe panic attacks. I was skeptical because I thought therapy was for weak minded people; and I'm a successful businessman in a cutthroat industry (hence the panic attacks). Instead I found someone who is thoughtful, engaging but equally as important street smart and who understands the real world, not just someone who is spouting off some academic theory. He'll challenge you which sometimes gets me mad but to be honest, I think I need it. But for me, he's been a good fit because he is real and doesn't placate you. If your real to him, then he's real to you. Call this cat. Seriously. He even does therapy by zoom so you don't even have to leave your home or office. ”

Getting to know Ryan Beatty

This is about you, your life, your relationships, and what is important to you. We can enhance your life, and I am honored to partake in that process. We all are bound by certain factors out of our control—our genes, our parents, our upbringing, and so on. However, amid that construct, we can choose to be who we want to be, and I can help with that endeavor. I love therapy, and I love being a therapist. I'm inspired by anyone who wants to change some aspect of themselves or their life. I hold a Master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy from California State University, Dominguez Hills, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support you effectively. The first step is to be cognizant of your choices and why you are making them—many of which seem automatic because, in fact, they are.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I take every new client as something new to an extent, everybody has a unique perspective and I try to tailor the therapeutic experience with that in mind, and most importantly for what the client is looking for out therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Ideally, I'm trying to cultivate an environment which is friendly, conversational, and enjoyable. Granted, that isn't always feasible given subject matters and experiences, but ultimately, I'm trying to foster a relationship and environment where clients can feel comfortable and get out of therapy what they want.

He has truly changed my life! I can't recommend Ryan enough

Ryan has supported me through some really challenging times in my life. I am grateful to have a listening heart with a clear tone. His perspective and questions have helped me to make better life decisions. I value who I am so much more than I ever have. I'm glad to have a therapist whose humor, thoughtfulness and ease encourage me to dig deeper, find new meaning and discover new ways of living.
Dr Beatty is super cool, funny, caring, and relatable. He talks like a friend and creates a comfortable environment to open up. He laughs with me and genuinely cares about what’s going on in my life. I’m so grateful to have connected with him, he’s become a very special part of my life and helps me deal with it in a way that doesn’t make me feel alone.
Writing therapist reviews is tricky because it's such a personal thing, but after working with Ryan for a while, I can confidently say many would benefit from his flexible, nonjudgmental style. He has an excellent memory and never fails to read what I need in a session that day--sometimes that means challenging some thought processes and patterns I have in ways that make me stew in thought for days, sometimes that means being soothing; in any and all cases, he leads with empathy. He's patient and honest, and has a casual approach that makes it easy to connect with him. While he would truly never take any credit, Ryan has been instrumental in getting my mental health--and life--to a better, more secure place.
