Getting to know Ryan Call

The decision to come to therapy can be hard, and finding a therapist can be daunting. If you're looking at my bio you're probably looking for a clinician who either knows trauma therapy or understands your religious background. Quick sketch bios don't do a great job at communicating warmth or empathy, but I want you to know that whether we work together or not your pain is real, and you're worth the effort it takes to feel better. If you'd like to know more about me, I enjoy comedy, reading, TTRPGs, and drawing. I love dogs and cats but I'm allergic so I keep plants. I also love being a therapist because I love seeing people heal.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I focus on relational trauma work--trauma that occurs within a relational context (e.g. family, friendship, romance, etc). I am licensed in UT, ID, AZ, and CO. I have over 14 years of experience in the field. I have a broad range of experience and training including: trauma, relationships, addiction, OCD, anxiety, and depression. I take a gentle and sustainable approach to resolving pain and help people sustainably grow their worth, self-compassion, and resilience.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

If you book a session with me I'll spend a few weeks getting to know you so I make sure that whatever work we do will fit your goal and treat what's actually going on. Sometimes that might mean early on I'll recommend you meet with doctors or other professionals so they can rule out or diagnose/treat various medical conditions that can affect your mental, emotional, and relational wellbeing. After a few weeks we'll create a plan about what we're going to do going forward, your goals, and how I can help you accomplish those goals.
