Ryan Jordan, LPCC

Psychotherapist
CA
Ryan received his Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Hope International University in Fullerton. Ryan has been practicing/working in the human services field for a little over ten years. He has previous experience in the special education school system as an instructional paraprofessional and as an in-home ABA behavior interventionist. Further, Ryan specializes in dual diagnosis treatment for those struggling with addiction and mental health. Therapeutically, he specializes in substance abuse counseling/addiction, as he is certified as a substance use counselor and has worked in substance abuse treatment as a residential treatment technician before becoming a therapist intern. Further, he specializes in working with children and adolescents who struggle with emotional defiance/conduct disorders and developmental disabilities; specifically autism spectrum disorders. Outside of being a therapist, he enjoys participating in ministry work, being active in recreational sports, and volunteering as a crisis counselor & hospice volunteer. Ryan takes a Rogerian and client-centered approach to therapy sessions. Further, he also utilizes cognitive behavioral interventions, gestalt interventions, mindfulness, and narrative therapy interventions to explore behavioral/thinking patterns and the whole person. His academic curriculum specialized in family systems, biopsychosocial thought, psychodynamic approaches, and person-centered interventions. Clients can expect to be heard and validated in every session. Clients will learn simple techniques and given ways to decrease anxiety, increase motivation, and to embrace the present moment in day-to-day life. In working as a substitute teacher in the special education system, I began to witness and recognize how trauma can affect the youth population and how influential it is in learning.
