Ryan Pescaia is supervised by Kirsti N Reese. Are you tired of holding? Whether it's holding it all together, holding everything in, or holding on to hope, it's all exhausting. Of course you're feeling burnt out, isolated, or lost. I promise to accept you regardless of what you've done, how you've behaved, or your darkest thoughts. My sessions are filled with compassion and connection. I'm an individual and relationship therapist who specializes in the LGBT+ population, isolation, loneliness, anxiety, depression, and non-monogamous relationships. My approach as an emotionally-focused and client-centered therapist is to discover unmet needs, heal attachment wounds, and identify the hard emotions. I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria at Katy and hold a Bachelor's degree from Texas State University. I'm available most weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays. I offer in-person therapy sessions in Houston and virtual sessions throughout Texas.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My clients can expect to finally have a safe space of empathy and unconditional acceptance. In the comfortability of my office, my clients will not have to confront their trauma alone. They will find someone to genuinely listen to them, to accept them truly, and wade through their emotions - no matter how uncomfortable. I am passionate about helping you explore your thoughts, feelings, and emotions at a pace that is comfortable for you. I approach counseling differently because I believe the therapist/client relationship is the most important aspect. We will spend time building our trust so we can work at your pace. You're tired of holding it together and I'm here to help.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Sessions with me may look a little bit different than how you've imagined therapy in the past. Our sessions will be focused on the client - talking about what's weighing on them each time we meet. As a therapist, I believe my role is to listen to clients and be a sense of connection in a world that feels utterly disconnected. In the comfort of my office, clients will find a safe space with someone to actually and truly HEAR them. I'm not going to give advice and I'm not going to judge anything you say, instead I seek to understand you.
