Psychotherapist
616 N Washington St, Ste 110, Denver, CO
Ryan believes that authenticity is the foundation of good therapy. He sees the relationship between therapist and client as the heart of the therapeutic process and strives to create a space where people feel comfortable enough to be themselves. Ryan is genuine, down-to-earth, and conversational, believing that meaningful change happens when people feel safe, understood, and accepted. Ryan also believes that the way we think has a profound influence on how we feel. He incorporates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) to help clients change how they relate to their thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. His combination of a personable, collaborative style and advanced clinical training helps clients feel seen and understood while also giving them practical tools to become less anxious and self-critical, more connected to others, and more intentional in the way they live their lives. Ryan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with honors, from Metropolitan State University of Denver and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. He has also completed advanced post-graduate training and earned certificates in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) through the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City. Ryan works with clients in both Colorado, where he lives, and New Jersey, which he visits regularly.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Warm, down-to-earth, informal, and real. I show up as a real person in therapy. I'm not poised, polished, or pretentious, and I don't pretend to know everything either. I'm a real guy who's here to listen, help you through what you're going through, and maybe help you better understand yourself, your thoughts, your patterns, and how you relate to yourself and others. In our work together, I'll help you open up, tell your story, process what you're feeling, and learn new ways to navigate your life. We'll look at how what you believe impacts how you feel and see if there are healthier, more helpful ways to talk to yourself so you can feel less anxious, depressed, or overwhelmed. I believe that finding the right fit between therapist and client is really important. To that end, I offer a 30-minute video consultation to every potential client to make sure what you're looking for and what I provide are a good match. You can reach out by email or visit my website to book an initial consultation.
