Hi there, I'm Ryan! Hello! My name is Ryan Suhr, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington, a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner in Nebraska, and a Licensed Professional Counselor. I hold an MSEd in Counseling from the University of Nebraska Kearney. For the past 19 years, I have utilized an approach that incorporates existential, cognitive behavioral, humanistic, and developmental strategies to resolve situational, personal, and relational challenges. I have worked with individuals, families, and groups from ages 3 to 87 with issues related to mood, anxiety, trauma, personality, and relationship difficulties. My approach Most of my career, I've been heavily influenced by the existential approach of Viktor Frankl's logotherapy and have incorporated training in cognitive behavioral, existential, and neurodevelopmental orientations. My focus I enjoy working with humans who want to have a better relationship with themselves, other people, and the world. My communication style While concerns discussed in therapy are inherently complex and serious, I try to facilitate an atmosphere that allows for a sense of humor about the human condition. My hope is that people with whom I'm allowed to work feel safe and supported while being challenged to consider different ways of being in the world.
